When it is cold outside, one of our favorite things to make on the Fagan Farm is hot chocolate. The Jersey milk and all its delicious cream makes the best tasting hot chocolate.
A cup of hot cocoa is a comfort on a cold day; it is very good with cookies just out of the oven, and you can’t go wrong serving it to friends and family that might stop in for a visit.
Farmhouse Hot Chocolate:
(Top of Stove Six Servings):
1/2 cup sugar 1/3 cup hot water
1/4 cup cocoa 4 cups Fagan Family Farm milk
Dash salt 3/4 tsp. vanilla extract
Mix sugar, cocoa, and salt in a saucepan; stir in water. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils; boil and stir 2 minutes. Stir in farm fresh milk and heat. DO NOT BOIL. Remove from heat; add vanilla.
