When it is cold outside, one of our favorite things to make on the Fagan Farm is hot chocolate. The jersey milk makes the best tasting hot chocolate. A cup of hot cocoa is a comfort on a cold day; it is very good with cookies just out of the oven, and you can’t go wrong serving it to friends and family that might stop in for a visit.
Farmhouse Hot Chocolate:
(Top of Stove Six Servings):
1/2 cup sugar 1/3 cup hot water
1/4 cup cocoa 4 cups Fagan Family Farm milk
Dash salt 3/4 tsp. vanilla extract
Mix sugar, cocoa, and salt in a saucepan; stir in water. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils; boil and stir 2 minutes. Stir in farm fresh milk and heat. DO NOT BOIL. Remove from heat; add vanilla.
